On the door at the Bank of the West, 17th and Wazee, this sign: “Please remove hats and sunglasses when entering the bank.”
With the new popularity of bank robberies, I am reminded of how well the entry and exit works at banks in Europe. Sort of like an air chamber, you first enter one door to a space where you will wait to be let into the bank. Exiting is the same, so that should you not really be authorized to leave the bank for any reason, you will be deposited in the interior of a locked exit chamber awaiting your withdrawal by the local gendarmes. They don’t have so many of the everyday scary local events. I think it’s a good system.
